PapagAI ("we", "us", "our") operates the PapagAI platform at papagai.net. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.
1. Data We Collect
Account Data: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password. If you sign in via Google or Microsoft, we receive your name and email from those services.
Payment Data: Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. Stripe may collect payment information in accordance with their own privacy policy.
Chat Data: Conversations between website visitors and chatbots are stored to provide chat history and improve service quality. Chat logs may include the text of messages and session identifiers.
Usage Data: We collect anonymized analytics data (pages visited, device type, browser) using a self-hosted Umami Analytics instance. No cookies are used for analytics tracking.
Knowledge Base Data: Content uploaded by customers (URLs, PDFs, text) is processed and stored to power the chatbot's responses.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and maintain the PapagAI service
- To process payments and manage subscriptions
- To send transactional emails (account activation, password reset, notifications)
- To improve our service based on aggregated usage patterns
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on servers located in the European Union (Hetzner, Germany). We use encryption (SSL/TLS) for all data in transit. Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel only.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following third-party services necessary to operate PapagAI:
- Stripe — payment processing
- Brevo — transactional emails
- Google Cloud — AI service APIs
- xAI — AI language model APIs
- Voyage AI — text embedding APIs
5. Data Retention
Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Chat logs and query history are retained for up to 12 months. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

Under GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Rectify inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Object to or restrict processing of your data
7. Cookies
PapagAI uses only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

PapagAI is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
